Who Am I?

This morning Lou spoke on the big question “Who Am I?” she shared from Romans 8 v14-17 – 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

She spoke about how 2 particular challenges that we come across may make us question our identity.

  • Comparison“Comparison is the thief of joy” – Theodore Roosevelt. Comparison is very dangerous as it makes us question who we are.
  • Negative labels – we tend to remember negative things that have been said about us over the positive things.

“The more you know someone and spend time with them, the more you know what they would think or say. We need to make God’s voice the loudest voice in our lives.”
